Nemesis Lacrosse 2020 – Letter from the President on the upcoming season

Hello Nemesis families,

I hope this message finds you well. Our hope is that all of you are managing and your families are staying healthy. These are trying times for all, the least of which is the uncertainty moving forward. Returning to team sports is top of mind for some. We have had a lot of inquiries as to our upcoming season which we are planning to start at our regular time, August 29, 2020.

We will maintain our Club motto that everyone is a Nemesis Club member, that will not change. Unfortunately, we will not be holding Travel team tryouts at this time. Travel restrictions are still in place for entering the US where we predominantly enter all of our tournaments.

The Nemesis Lacrosse Club will be adhering to the guidelines set out by the Ontario Government and the City of Ottawa Health Department in regards to return to play. It is our hope that on August 29th we will be in stage 3 and would be allowed to organize ourselves in a familiar fashion. We are preparing for multiple scenarios and will update you on our new website which will be the future platform for all relative information.

I would like to thank all the volunteers and coaches from last year and look forward to working with you all again this year. Our coaches are setting up up practice plans for the new season in order to bring an exciting new dynamic to the club which will build a great lacrosse atmosphere for all to enjoy. This new strategy will allow all players to gain knowledge and skill while working with the full coaching staff. This will build familiarity between players and coaches of all age groups to help build a strong club mentality. In turn, this will allow for a strong bond between all Nemesis players regardless of age.

The Nemesis Lacrosse Club prides itself as being a community run organization encompassing all of the greater Ottawa region. It is truly made up of volunteers and belongs to everyone who is a registered member. We would like to hear from you if you have any ideas or concerns. There is always a place for people who would like to become involved in any manner. This is your Club, and its strength is our member families.

I look forward to seeing all of you who make up the Ottawa Nemesis Lacrosse Club.

Thank you for your support,

Pat Murawsky

President
Ottawa Nemesis Lacrosse Club
